PUTTBOX™ KEY 2 - CONTROL FOLLOW THROUGH

Unlock Your True Putting Potential

KEY 2 - CONTROL FOLLOW THROUGH

FOLLOW THROUGH MATTERS MORE THAN YOU THINK

Most golfers make putting far more complicated than it needs to be. They take the putter back roughly the same distance on every putt…and then “hit” the ball harder for longer distances.

This creates:

❌ Inconsistent follow-through length
❌ Broken tempo
❌ Off-center strikes
❌ Wobble
❌ Poor roll quality
❌ Unpredictable speed
❌ Missed start lines

Great putters don’t “hit.” They finish the stroke — smooth, quiet, and controlled.

HOW TO TRAIN FOLLOW THROUGH
(Using Your PuttBox™)

Your PuttBox provides clear, simple feedback:

  • The front wall becomes your natural stopping point
  • If your putter touches the box → the stroke over-accelerated
  • A quiet finish creates the clean roll you need
  • Consistent follow-through improves strike, tempo, and speed

This removes guesswork and helps you develop a repeatable stroke.

SETUP INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Place your PuttBox™ on a flat surface
  2. Use the alignment groove to square the face
  3. Start two putter-head lengths from the small hole
  4. Focus on a smooth, controlled finish — not force
  5. Your putter should stop naturally before reaching the box

If you touch the box, the stroke was:

❌ Too long
❌ Too aggressive
❌ Too hit-based
❌ Out of rhythm

Controlled follow-through is essential for predictable speed.

HERE’S THE TRUTH:

You cannot deliver perfect capture speed (KEY #3) unless your follow-through is controlled.

KEY #2 gives you the foundation for predictable speed and pure roll.

THE GOLDEN RULE OF KEY 2

Your follow-through should never strike the PuttBox™.

When your finish stays controlled, you’ll see immediate improvements:

Cleaner end-over-end roll
✔ Stable tempo
✔ Better strike quality
✔ Predictable speed
✔ Straighter start line
✔ More success inside the Capture Speed Window™

This is the foundation of elite speed control.

IDEAL FOLLOW THROUGH DISTANCES

Use these feel-based benchmarks as guides:

  • 4-foot putt → ~1.5 putter-head widths
  • 8-foot putt → ~2 putter-head widths
  • 15-foot putt → ~2.5 putter-head widths
  • 30-foot putt → ~3.5 putter-head widths

These are not strict rules — they are reference points to help you sense proper motion. Use your PuttBox™ to observe what produces your cleanest, most controlled roll.

PROGRESSION DRILLS

Use these structured drills to develop consistent follow-through control:

4 FOOT DRILL

  • Set 1.5 putter-head widths
  • Place a ball 3 feet behind the PuttBox™ as your “speed target”
  • Quiet, soft acceleration
  • Never touch the box
  • Try to lightly bump the target ball

8 FOOT DRILL

  • Set 2 putter-head widths
  • Target ball 7 feet behind
  • Match your tempo from the 4-foot drill
  • Prioritize clean roll

15 FOOT DRILL

  • Set 2.5 putter-head widths
  • Aim at a cup or pillow 13 feet behind
  • Avoid the “hit” motion
  • Keep rhythm steady

30 FOOT DRILL

  • Set 3.5 putter-head widths
  • Distance comes from a slightly longer motion
  • Not from extra force

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

You’ve mastered Key #2 when:

✔ Your putter never touches the box
✔ Your tempo stays smooth at every distance
✔ You can calibrate follow-through length confidently
✔ You stop “hitting” and start stroking
✔ Your roll becomes more pure
✔ Putts begin stopping inside the PuttBox Speed Window naturally

Once you reach this level…
